What you can retain
The exact input ID, its decoded UTC value, the chosen display zone and a source URL when you supplied one. These are reproducible inputs and calculations.
Check when a post ID was created. This TikTok timestamp finder reads a video or photo link, converts its time and helps you compare two posts.
A familiar clip can reappear in your feed long after its first circulation. Before describing it as new, inspect the particular post you have. The TikTok timestamp finder gives you a dated reference for that ID, so you can compare it with a caption, a saved link or another upload. It does not search every copy of the clip.
The TikTok timestamp finder example uses the real @billnye video 6854717870488702213 documented in Ryan Benson’s August 2020 research. Recomputed on November 4, 2026, the ID gives 2020-07-29 at 02:06:13 UTC. Benson recorded the page’s createTime as 02:06:17 UTC: four seconds later.
That small difference matters if you are ordering events separated by seconds. It is why the result is labeled as an inference from an ID. The original research and screenshots provide the historical cross-check; this page does not claim to have fetched the video’s current metadata.
Choose Use real example above to fill this URL, then calculate it yourself. The example button supplies an input only. It does not display a fabricated live response or require a TikTok account.
Our September 16, 2026 slideshow test recorded seven returned images for @adventurers00, post 7684712891978665249. Its ID decodes to 2026-09-12 at 18:10:48 UTC. The test date and encoded date describe different events. The TikTok timestamp finder can reproduce the calculation; the earlier media check does not independently verify the exact publication second.
A date without a time zone is an incomplete comparison. The TikTok timestamp finder keeps UTC visible while you change the display zone. In the Bill Nye example, the very same instant falls on July 28 in Los Angeles and July 29 in London. Neither conversion changes the underlying ID.
| Display zone | Local date and time | Offset |
|---|---|---|
| UTC | 29 Jul 2020, 02:06:13 | +00:00 |
| America/Los_Angeles | 28 Jul 2020, 19:06:13 | −07:00 |
| Europe/London | 29 Jul 2020, 03:06:13 | +01:00 |
| Asia/Kolkata | 29 Jul 2020, 07:36:13 | +05:30 |
Use the named city zone instead of manually adding today’s offset. A region can observe daylight saving time on one date and a different offset on another. The selector applies your browser’s time-zone rules to the date in the result. A device label identifies your display setting; it does not locate the creator.
Enable Compare a second post and enter the second full address. The TikTok timestamp finder labels your entries A and B, preserves both source links and reports their difference. It compares the encoded UTC values, so changing the display zone cannot reverse the order.
Two copies of a clip may have different IDs. An earlier result establishes the earlier encoded time among the two inputs, not the first appearance anywhere online. Conversely, two differently formatted links may contain the same ID. The tool flags that case instead of presenting the same post as two independent observations.
When both IDs encode the same second, there is no finer ordering here. Do not infer milliseconds from the remaining digits. For close results, check other dated evidence before asserting a sequence. The comparison is most useful for separating days, months or years, not resolving tiny timing disputes.
This TikTok timestamp finder interprets the numeric ID as an integer, shifts it right by 32 bits and converts the result from Unix seconds. It uses precise integer arithmetic to retain the long number. The approach comes from Benson’s independent analysis; Bellingcat’s open-source implementation references that research too.
The exact input ID, its decoded UTC value, the chosen display zone and a source URL when you supplied one. These are reproducible inputs and calculations.
Whether the post exists, what it shows, who created the footage and when it became public. A plausible number alone cannot answer those questions.
The TikTok timestamp finder does not inspect a video file, contact the account owner or read a hidden publishing log. A re-upload can contain much older footage. Treat the filming date, the ID’s date and the date you encountered the post as separate fields in your notes.
The TikTok timestamp finder needs the long post number. Short links hide it behind a redirect, so open those in your own browser and copy the complete destination. If TikTok asks you to log in or restricts the post, this tool cannot resolve that access problem. The copy-link guide helps distinguish a profile address from a post.
Paste one URL per field. Share text containing a single full URL is accepted, and tracking parameters are removed from the saved source record. A link to a sound, a profile, a Story or another website is not a supported post address. The form explains the mismatch instead of guessing an ID from unrelated digits.
For a bare ID, copy the original digits as text. Spreadsheets can round long numbers or rewrite them in scientific notation. A rounded ID may still produce a plausible date, so plausibility is not proof that you preserved the original. Compare the number against the source before saving your result.
Use the TikTok timestamp finder’s copy or text-download action to keep a small source record. It includes the ID, a cleaned post URL when available, UTC, Unix seconds, the display zone and the method limitation. A saved record can travel with a research note or media folder without relying on a temporary download address.
Add your own observation separately: when you opened the post, whether it played and which caption you actually saw. This avoids turning a calculation into a claim about a live page. Opening the original source is optional and sends you to TikTok; calculating the value itself makes no provider request.
It shows the second encoded in the post ID. That value can differ from the platform’s publication timestamp, and it does not establish when the footage was filmed. Keep the ID-derived label when sharing your result.
A saved full URL or numeric ID can still be decoded without loading the content. A successful calculation does not recover the post, confirm deletion or establish who owned it. You need another source to verify those facts.
A vm.tiktok.com, vt.tiktok.com or /t/ link contains a redirect code instead of the numeric post ID. Open the link yourself and copy the final post address. This tool does not contact a server to expand short links.
No. This tool accepts individual video or photo post links and numeric post IDs. A username, profile address or oldest visible video does not establish when an account was created.
The ID does not identify the creator’s location or time zone. UTC and each selected zone describe the same instant. Your device’s zone is only a display choice, not evidence about where the post originated.
No. The form calculates locally and makes no TTViewer provider request. It does not put your inputs in a shareable URL or save them as search history. The website’s general analytics and advertising still follow its privacy policy.
The TikTok timestamp finder answers a timing question. If you also need the available media, keep the source record and choose the appropriate tool below.
